Sculpted from red clay. This piece was the second fired sculpture that I ever did. The character is chained to a stone and is trying to break free. The thing with clay is it shrinks when fired. So the chain had to be sculpted with a free floating link. I was fifteen or sixteen when I sculpted this piece.
